(Probably read about your feeder in a birdie guide book.)
Oh My gosh ... this is the bird I saw when I was about six and we still liived in Michigan I told my mom about it but she thought I saw a blue bird... but this was it.. IT was all blue and on its stomach and it was the most beautiful creature I had ever seen.
Thanks for sharing this.
(Which, given that they are a vivid blue is impressive.)
In fact, the first one I ever saw, in the wild (well, er, ANYwhere) was perched at the tip of a maple sapling, out in the meadows of north Michigan, and he was chirping VERY loudly at me because I was too close to his nesting area.
He was so tiny and was silhouetted against the sky, so all I saw was a small black bird until I went over to investigate what all the ruckus was about.
Since then I have seen them up north a few times, and down here....my blue guy was out in the road (probably picking up pebbles) today on my way home from work.
It's funny how once you see something you start seeing it again everywhere. ;P
