Good eight. I go from hermit to friendly. Many of my jobs were solo. I liked that. We get vultures here every November.
Ooo, yeah, I like it when I work in a quiet part of the lab, too!

Too many people give me hives!!!
Can't get anything done with people around. jawing.

yeppers, I relate to a lot of this! esp. the hermit/friendly schizoness.

and the half-assedness, only that's a fulltime thing for me! hahah!

Lol! Yeah, I DO go around saying that the only thing I am fullassed about (no butt jokes please) is being halfassed!!!

Hey, I just downloaded Jeff Buckley "Sketches for my Sweetheart, the Drunk". Can't wait to listen to it! :D

My internet worked long enough to do that! YAY!
Oh, I haven';t heard that album! make sure to post some tunes when you can!
You are lucky you get a decade of friendly. I find friendly exhausting after a few hours. My deep seated introverted self must out!
#1 Yup. My extended family is weird too. (curls up fingers, twitches, makes wild eyes, drools, slurps drool, limps away like hunchback dragging one foot.)
#2 I enjoy spending hours watching bird behavior.
#3 Last year I finally cut ties with about 5 friends. It took a year. It was hard to remember to not jump for them when they called, etc. I put stickers on my phones and my dashboard to remind me. I needed to break free. Their lives were all about going from one crisis to the next and I was the rescuer. A bit draining.
#4 Makes sense to me! Sounds fine!
#s 5, 6, 7 You are not alone.
#8 Read on!
Oh, that is soooo true about some of the friends being draining! That's one excellent reason for breaking ties. One crisis to the next. For sure!

I did, however, just have lunch with an awesome friend who I only get to see every few years and she is a bundle of energy, a joy to be with...a recharger, not a drainer of energy! She is 67-68 years old, world traveler, explorer, wit....and I am so glad I didn't miss lunch with her today just cuz I was feeling hermit-like! :D
Birds are really neat. I'm fascinated by the pigeons in my city. And I never, ever forget that all birds, even the smallest, are formerly dinosaurs.
How cool is that?

I have sometimes up to 15 different species on my feeders at one time. They are so much fun!
You know, I don't know why that happened. Although I remember reading somewhere that when women are in their 40s there tends to be a trend of them going out and making more friends than previously. It sure proved true for me.

And, now I want to go back into my hidey hole. How weird is that?

I require a LOT of alone time, too!
Hooray for 8. Me too. Of course, I'm a hermit (no phases), so it figures.
I can relate to hermit status. Only explanation I can make is that balance of yin & yang.
Definitely it's about balance! I just find my latest bout of hermitage interesting because I can tell it has something with going from my 40s to my 50s. I really don't want to be BOTHERED by people anymore. Yay! It's rather a liberating feeling!
