The Birds
Ok, friends, I want to share some of my backyard buddies with you. I love when the Whitecrowned Sparrows come through every spring and every fall. They winter in the states south of Ohio and they summer up in northern Canada. So, they stop by my feeders for a few weeks at the change of the seasons.
I love the beautiful soft gray of their breasts and their awesome pink bills and feets! Of course, the stunning head stripes are the perfect finish!
Next are my annual pair of Rosebreasted Grosbeaks. The female is camera shy, but I got a couple of pictures of "Splash" out of my windows. He's a very handsome dude!
And, for now, last, this is the very first Indigo Bunting I have seen at my house!!!! I have seen them in the woods of northern Michigan, but never down here! I nearly squeed my pants when I saw the blur of blue in the planter out my kitchen window. Please excuse my hose.
Man, I loves me some birds!!!!!

Yay birdies! They're not so colorful out here, but just listening to them gives me joy. The sparrows have Tremendous discussions - they must be talking politics, they're so loud - and the hissing mockingbirds, and coo-ing mourning doves are delightful.
This morning I saw two pigeons taking a quick bath in a puddle of water in the middle of the street. I paused for a moment or two to make sure no car clipped their wings.
Cwazy boidbrain, cwazy boidbrain....bwwwwwaaaaaawwwwwk!!!!
wow, what great photos! I know how hard it is to get pics of some of these little dewds, of course if you are feeding them they will stick around a little longer, or if they are nesting near the house. I had a hell of a time getting pics in Big Bend, they are much...flightier. ;-)
These dewds are all so beautiful! that last guy is amazing.
It's a great hobby.
Beats snortin' coke, or shootin' up heroin. :P
