After work I take off to my sister's. She lives west of Chicago and we are celebrating Joanna's 2nd birthday on Saturday! What a cutie! We got her an MSU teeshirt, some crazy mismatched sox. A Very Hungry Caterpillar card game, and a little board book about ladybugs. I'm having more fun with it than she ever will! ;P
So. Have a great, grand weekend, y'all. We are supposed to get lots of rain which is great for the new strawberry plants I just put in! w00t!
I spoiled my nephew and niece. (why can't I ever spell niece correctly on the first try? What an irritating word.)
I let Elijah pick out two vehicles...he wanted a school bus most of all...a space shuttle second. And, Joanna glommed onto a doggie in a purse and a dolphin, which my sister named Nosy, since Joanna kept sticking it's tail up her nose.
Lol! "It's NOT Nosy, it's Dolphin!" Joanna insisted.
Weather predictions for tonight....5-8 inches of snow, chance of snow 100%. Tomorrow additional accumulations of 1-3 inches.
Is anything better than a snowstorm when we have the day off at home? I don' theenk soooooo....

I'm baaaack, with more news from the world of chicken poop and dog barf. I was happily typing away down here and hubby gets up and comes downstairs. "Did you see the barfpile at the top of the stairs?" he asks.
Ummm...nope. I musta walked right by it. But, I am home this morning, so I will clean it up. I gathered my materials. Paper towels, bucket of hot oxiclean water, trash bag to throw all the unmentionables in. I go up the stairs. There is a COWPIE sized pile of barf sitting there right by the wall. How did I NOT see that???
Aaaaaaah. The human mind is a skeery thing. We see only what we want to see, and who wants to see that? Well...hubby, cuz he is safely out the door to work and he wants to see it so someone else can clean it up!
Enough with the damn dog barf.
I have to get outside and get the goat shed all spiffed up with fresh straw. Today it's supposed to rain and tomorrow maybe snow! So, chickens and goats get water-thawers put in today, and fresh cuddly straw. I, also, need to buy a new chickenfeed holder today.
Well, I better get shovellin'....the rainclouds are comin' in and the barfpiles are building up. Bleh!!!

Two weeks ago my mom and I headed west to the Chicago area to take care of my nephew and neice whilst my sis and her hubby went off to celebrate their 10th anniversary for four days.
It was a scary proposition. A 2 1/2 year old and a 1 year old. But, oh, my, it was SO much fun! The kids are exhausting, moody,sweet, loving, hyper, lunatics, SO smart, SO funny, well, just wonderful, slightly above (of course) normal, kids!!!

Then we all went to Damon's for dinner. I requested seating in the diningroom, but we ended up in the room with the giant tv screens, so I think most everyone was happy with that. We got to see the Detroit Redwings win, and all the prerace hoopla for the Kentucky Derby! Then we got home in time to see the Derby run and the Pistons trounce da Bulls!
Whew! Busy and good day! Today we celebrate Joanna's (above) first birthday!
Another busy day!
No snotty comments, please. I am actually off to Chicago for the weekend. My little neice, Joanna, 10 months old is getting "dedicated" to her church tomorrow. My son and his wife will be there. And my mom and dad. My sister, her husband and Nano's older brother, Elijah.

My sis just sent me this Valentine picture of my niece and nephew, otherwise known as the Cutest Kids on the Planet! (at least until I have grandchildren Haha!) ;)

Joanna Leigh is my teensy niece. She is such a cutie-pie! Her big brother, Elijah, calls her Nano, or iPod Nano. I can't wait to see her again...it's been WEEKS!!!
